I know some people asked to see the garden, updated since the floods. So, here are a few pics.
My Garden, Updated
Other ferocious attack cat was too busy trying to escape house. Picture of him later.
Considering I have only owned my house for 14 months, and I only started gardening last year, I am pretty proud of myself.
Now, if I would only learn more varieties, lol.
Also,
I have another fenced area with more hibiscus, but I did't show them, because I haven't figured out how to make that area nice looking, yet.
Cat! Just a year? You are a natural. Congrats on all your accomplishments! Lovely new home, thanks so much for the tour! You could post the "uncat-erized" area, we will just look at the hibs ;) .........and give you some ideas. Everything is so nice, love the screened patio, the shed looks great with the hibs - bug is creeping looking but I like your security crew. I'm trying to get caught up on DG, it's too early to set things outside here.. I do have a Nightfire bud and do a daily inspection on Hot Ross, I'm so wanting warm weather, and a bloom from Hot Ross. Hi to everyone!
You have done good girl. I can't get over how your original hibs, the ones you had to pot up in the round pots after the flood, have grown, they are beautiful.
Cat, it is great to see you posting again, and it was very interesting to see how you grow your hibiscus. I'm amazed that you are doing so well with so little experience gardening! and of course I love the animals.
peace and warm sun,
Barry
Hi Barry,
All my hibs are on cement stone, in the backyard portion of my house, to avoid being ruined by floods. At the time I had 52 hibs in the ground. 8 died and I dug up the remaining 44 and put them back into pots.
Besides the fact that they love pots, it is also much safer for them, come serious rainy season, or God forbid, hurricane season.
I also have a butterflie garden out front, but the bees seem to be more attracted to that, and the butterflies love the hibs, lol.
This was the original replanting of the hibs, last year, after he floods.

Here is another link that shows some of the flooding, which was caused by my backyard neighbors extremely sloping....backyard..
All the hibs in the back,by the chain link fence, died. Except for the one shown above. There were nine in all. Also, Honey comb and Starfire could not survive, no matter how I tried to baby them, and bring them back to life :(
