Hi from western NC near the Great Smokey Mountains

HI newbie here, I recently subscribed and was so excited that I didn't really look at all the forums so I just found this one.

I am married have 2 kids and 4 dogs- 3 blue heelers and 1 chocolate lab. I live on 2 acres( but its not all flat wish it was.)and the soil is mostly clay. I have been doing composting for past year with good success. I live in zone 7 with mild winters ( we do have some nights in the teens) and very warm to hot summers. The mountains here are so beautiful with many native flowers and plants. I love flowers and flower gardening with a passion, I have never really taken the time to grow my own flowers . I have always bought plants because I like instant gratification. This year I want to try growing my own because I think not only will it be financially better but also very satisfying to do so thats why I am here to learn. I would love to make lots of new friends and trade, swap and join in co-ops as much as possible.
