Brushing teeth help!

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Ginger (standard poodle) keeps biting down when ever I brush her teeth, about once every two weeks b/c I forget weekly. I've been brushing her teeth for eight years! It's kind of difficult but manageable because with a manual toothbrush, it doesn't matter so much if she chomps down on it. But I just bought her an electric toothbrush. It doesn't scare her, she treats it just the same as a manual one but this is more fragile than a manual toothbrush and it stops working when she bites down on it.

Does any one have any ideas on how to get her to stop biting down? I guess I could get someone to help me by holding her jaws open but that sounds so unpleasant.

Please note that I really don't want to use sprays or finger brushes and that she already has dozens of rawhides and rope toys laying around. Her vets say that she has gorgeous teeth and I want to keep it that way. So what I've been doing has been keeping them perfect.
