I need some advice on peonies. I have been looking online for fragrant ones, but each website that I look at rates their fragrance differently. For instance one calls Madame de Verneville fragrant while another one refers for it as very fragrant. I have even bought supposedly fragrant ones and they have very little fragrance. (Or we just can't smell them over all the other fragrant stuff I have) Does anyone have any favorites? I would like to try and save some time and money, not to mention the disappointment. Thanks!!!!!
What are the most fragrant peonies?
Hello, sorry for the slow response - just saw this! Festiva Maxima is an extremely fragrant peony - also gorgeous! Klehm's nursery has it, and since it's a very old variety, lots of local nurseries will have it too. Klehm's specializes in peonies & has a great, very informative catalog so you might want to check it out.
Thanks, Muddylou, I'll check it out Klehm's website. (I have a sinking feeling there goes my budget again.) 8)

'Eden's Perfume' smells wonderful! More places are starting to sell it.
Thanks, Zville123 I will put those on my list. I noticed that Van Engelen has those for sale last year. Hope they do this year, too so I can get some.
Last autumn I bought 'Kelways Glorious' and 'Edulis Superba'. Both are supposed to be very fragrant but it'll be a few years before I get to smell them.
I forgot to say I bought 'Eden's Perfume' from Hallsons Gardens. It was a great size and very healthy. Will buy any future peonies from them.
