Hi everybody. This is my cv. sunrise, from a cutting this past fall. It is growing like crazy, but just doesn't seem to look right to me.
What do you think?
I can get a better pic. if needed.
H. cv. sunrise question
cv. Sunrise is very prone to fungi...es;pecially Cercosphora. There are a number of fungicides out there that are broadspectrum and cover Cercosphora as well as others. It is a good idea to use 2 different ones and alternate them.

ackkkk!!!
Fungus? It's got a fungus?
Yuck.
Was hoping maybe it was just something simple, like maybe too much light...or something...
Thanks Carol.
Is it contagious?
Yes, it can be. I would isolate the plant and give it a good dousing with a fungicide a couple of times. Daconil goes systemic and will kill the fungus.... Lacunosa, obscura, pusilla, walliniana are especially prone to this...
Thanks Carol.
Daconil isn't sold up here, but I'll find something.
In your favorite garden supply store, check out the fungicides....they usually carry a list of the fungi they will hit.
In any case...you can try Tenactin (a human foot fungal spray)...often works.
There is an article in this week's newsletter from DG about using Cinnamon as a fungicide...you might check it out....
Aloha
