Brugs in the Headlines
Ok - I'm in BC and I woke up to this on the radio yesterday. Saw these kids on the 6 clock news. Saw the plants - definitely were not Brugs but were white daturas. These kids actually ate the seed pods. Definitely not the brightest bulbs in the lamp. They heard a rumor that it would make them high. What can I say~~
I've read a good number of "testimonies" online of people who tried daturas or brugs for a high. Scary stuff. First of all, the ignorance - most didn't have a clue what would happen, how much was a "safe" dose, etc. Almost all vowed never to touch it again.
Here I am falling in love with these babies and somebody might be dumb enough to deliberately try to ingest it. Apparently you have to want to really badly, because the taste is so vile it's hard not to vomit.
These kids weren't babies - they were about 17 or 18. They didn't ingest them accidentally, they did it on purpose. As they say in Prince Edward Island - eedjits.
and they are just the kind that can get something
'outlawed' by their stupidity.
Babies would not be dumb enough to swallow something that tasted that bad... Heck, they won't even eat broccoli!
wow - thanks for posting the article, can you just believe it?????/ whassamatter with these people. Hope my kids dont try this...
and there's a town in Florida that just outlawed new brug plants due to teenagers trying them. They aren't going to make you take up established plants, but are suggesting that you do. :(
Daturas are apparently illegal in Nova Scotia.
JanetR, I have heard they have been banned in London Ont.
:( it's just a matter of time :( I won't go down without a fight!!!!!
I always pick the wrong time to get interested in something... Still at the newbie with Daturas stage, maybe I better not graduate to brugs, may end up being more frustrated.
I really don't see how they could ban them in parts of the US where they grow wild (daturas, anyway).
If the government gets involved, you can kiss them all goodbye......studpid standards that they judge by..
