Buffalo, MN(Zone 4a)

It says in Plantfiles that they are, but I couldn't find them on my poisonous plant list. One source says the seeds are poisonous, but I'm wondering about the plants and flowere-

Hmmm. . .I guess I'll wait a few more years until the grandkids are a little older to try these! Thanks for the link!

Thanks back at you for bringing that to our attention. I have a big container of them on the deck! Now I know to move them when little ones come to visit.

Yeah, I have one that seems to really like to fiddle with the plants-and he's really fast, too!

Speaking from personal experience, you don't want to eat these. lol All the members of the Aroid family, like Elephant Ears, Jack-in-the-pulpit, philodendron. have the oxalic acid, which will burn the mouth.
When I was a little kid, I ate a Jack-in-the-pulpit. Don't ask me why! I just remember my mom was talking on the phone and looking out the window and I was running around the backyard pointing at my mouth. It was burning like crazy.
Maybe that's why I don't like hot/spicy food??!!!

Interesting. Glad I just happened to be browsing around and found this. My future daughter in law wanted me to put fresh Calla lilies on her wedding cake. I think not now!

Hmmm, could make for an interesting reception!

I'll pass on it. I do wonder, though. Because I have seen cakes with the real calla's on them. I'm just not going to chance it.

As long as you don't eat the flowers, it should be fine. Actually, I don't know about the flower part, stem I definitely wouldn't eat.
