Tomorrow is the start of the Azalea Trail in Tyler. It is worth the drive to see the beautiful old homes, brick streets and georgous yards in the Azalea District. Mine have just started to bloom but you can go to this link www.tylerazaleatrail.com to see when would be the best time to come.
Tyler Azalea Trail
Hi Shirley, Thanks for the link. I've never done the trail, but the Caldwell Zoo is an awesome place to see the Azaleas blooming as well.
Shirley, you should join us at the Bloomin' festival http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/804664/ . Last year there was a vendor there that had huge azaleas for 8 dollars. Even if you don't need azaleas, it would be great to meet you.
I'd love to come. I'm at work and don't have time to read the thread. Is there going to be a plant exchange or anything? I bought 10 one gallon azaleas at Lowe's for $2. But you never can have too many.
The Tyler paper said that because of the snow last week that the blooms are behind. They should be really blooming the week-end of Easter. There are plenty of redbuds, tulip trees, tulips and other spring flowers blooming. I drove through the area today and it still was beautiful.
