Have: Cactus

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Indoor and outdoor (outdoor hardy to at least my zone 7A - see "my images" for photos of blooms) to include the larger Prickly Pear Pads (3 types, at least), 2 types of smaller Prickly Pear Pads, chollas, agaves/yucca pups. Also have common indoor cacti that will need a good home. Love my cacti but love my 10 month old grandbaby more :)
Would prefer trades (Broms I don't have and/or highly fragrant plants/flowers)... will consider for postage. Dmail for specific names.

What is your secret for getting them to bloom? I have a 6 year old night blooming Cereus that hasn't bloomed.

X - oh if you figure that out please tell ME!!! LOL None of my epi type plants have bloomed for me yet...they're on year 2 or 3 so they better do something soon!!

Cactus really aren't my "thing". Are you suppose to feed them?

You guys, mist them with MG or bloombooster, a couple of times a week, they get nourishment also thru the leaves. And deep water them with fish emulsion...when you do water.. you will see the difference in a couple of weeks. Dappled shade and if you started with cuttings, it should take about two years for good flower display. but, it depends also on the amount of light they get. good luck.

Thanks! I'll start doing that.

Chantell, I don't have anything to trade at this time but if you are trying to get rid of any of the aloe you sent me a strart of, I would pay postage or whatever to take it off your hands....a friend of mine came over this week & got misty eyed when she say my little fella from you growing....it was the very first plant she ever had...she said it was like seeing an old friend....so I would love to do a start for her as a surprise....Let me know....the one I am talking about is on the right side of the picture in a chinese turquoise & pink little pot.....always looking forward to seeing your posts.....Deb

snow - sadly the only yucca remaining are my big ones that would be too costly to ship...I'll probably move them to the hill behind our townhouses so I can still enjoy them. I may have another small pup of the Yucca recurvifolia...they tend to keep popping up despite my transplanting the parent plant last summer...LOL

Ahh Deb - LOOK at your babies...esp that one you rescued from that property...she/he looks wonderful. You done good, my friend...gotta give you the warm and fuzzies!! I don't have another (at least that I've found so far) of that one aloe. I think it's fairly common though and can be found at the box stores. Sorry I couldnt' be more help on that. If you get it ID'd and you'd like me to look for another - I'd be happy to do so!! Hugs!

That's what I thought when she acted like she did....I felt like I've seen it many times like at Home Depot...but then I thought I must be crazy 'cause she got so emotional about it...thanks for the info & I'll have my eyes out for it....Happiest of Easters!!!! bet Chloe will be excited this year to find eggs??? Big hug right back atcha'.....

She just may not have realized that they're everywhere! LOL In the past...I've purchased something online (read paid s/h) only to find it locally...makes me nuts, i tell you!!
Here's a recent pic of Miss Chloe and Me!!
