Does anyone know if birds like the berries of this plant? I had completely forgotten about this plant but I just love it. I came across it in a school plant sale brochure, so if birds and critters like it, I will put it on my list!
Thanks!
Deb
Plantfiles says it is attractive to birds and/or butterflies . . .

Arctostaphyllos uva-ursi, Kinnikinnik
If Resin doesn't answer this then ask kennedyh.
Yep, they will do. American Robins will strip the berries in short order the moment they're ripe.

Oh, thank you! This will be perfect!
Also, did you see that some of the pictures in the database are from Grasmussen. So maybe he has some comments too.
does anyone have an extra plant uva ursi bearberry? I live in Louisiana in zone 9 and I am going to take a chance to grow them. I will buy it if the price is reasonable.
thanks
Sue
Sorry, it won't grow in Louisiana, it's a subarctic plant
