This mornings Butterflies.

In addition to many Wood Satyrs, there were several Red-banded Hairstreaks.

For a change, they allowed picture taking. I think they are a beautiful little butterfly.

Oooh, I miss the hairstreaks. Hopefully, they'll show up in great numbers soon. I always like how they rub their wings together; it's so neat to watch.

I have been seeing these for years, just never realized how beautiful they were. I do wish they were a bit larger. They are kind of hard to spot.

Wow, how beautiful! I love that glimpse of electric blue.

Thanks svplantingfool. I had to take about 30 pictures in fast fire mode to catch 3 or 4 with the flash, as it is of very short duration. I felt very lucky to have one close enough for a quality picture.

Great job!
I have yet to catch a Sulphur.... they are too fast for me.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Sulphurs are very fast. I can only get the picture with a tripod and remote control. This only works when they have a favorite flower to which they keep returning.

Great photos Trois. I've not seen one of those here. We get the Duskyblue Groundstreaks instead...so very similar :o)

Thanks, TexasPuddyPrint. I wonder how many I have been missing since they are so small.
