If anyone is close and can help . . . . Hammond, LA

I am a police officer in our city. Today I answered a call about cruelty to animals. The dog is a German Shepard who is malnutritioned and has been very mistreated. Dispite all of this, she is as friendly as can be and will let strangers handle her.

Animal Contro lpicked her up and is going to do an evaluation today (They are on the way to the shelter as we speak). Since she is so underweight and has been living in such deplorable conditions, they are probably going to have to put her down (This is what the shelter employee told me).

If anyone can take her, please let me know, or contact the Tangipahoa Parish Animal Shelter at 985-543-0215. I know it is alot, and understand if no one can take her. I can't take her for numerous reasons. It's just a shot in the dark.
