Plumeria cutting advice, please

Buffalo, MN(Zone 4a)

I am getting some Plumeria cuttings from the plumeria coop. I've been reading the sticky post links at the top of this forum but still have a couple of questions. My cuttings will come well healed over-do I just stick the calloused end into rooting hormone and then about 4" into the rooting mix? I don't cut the callous off or anythng?

I also will need to buy some new rooting hormone-is any particular kind recommended? The last time I bought some I think I only had one choice-it seems like there are lots of brands out there now . . .
Thanks!

Deb,

You definitely don't want to cut off the calloused end. A calloused end is preferable for rooting cuttings. The bottom two inches go in the soil after dipping in rooting hormone. Rooting hormone may help the rooting process but is not necessarily crucial to it. I use Hormex, but they sell Root-tone at Home Depot here. Some rooting hormone powders have a fungicide, which is nice. It is all the same stuff at the same strength, I believe, since it is regulated by the government.
