Waiting patiently

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

I bought this epi with small buds about 3 weeks ago and I can't wait for it to open. What a color. All the tag says is Hot Pink. Look familiar to anyone?

The tag said "hot pink" but it's so much richer!

I called the greenhouse today in Newfane VT to see if they had any other colors. They said many are in bloom but they are all this color. Anyone who lives in VT should consider getting one! They had lots of them.

boojum that is so beautiful. How I wish I lived in US to buy one and all the other lovely colors you can get over there.

So sorry to hear that you can't get any!

I did sound a bit sad at not getting that lovely color boojum, but I should be content with the 500 or so that I do have. We gardeners are never satisfied with what we have are we ?

I THOUGHT you said you had a bunch. Maybe we can trade someday! We are never satisfied! What colors are yours?

Sorry boojum, I cant send plant material to USA from here and I cannot afford the huge cost to try and import from USA.
There are very few people who sell epis here and I was lucky enough to be able to buy a private collection very cheaply. I just wish we could trade to get some of the magnificent colors I see on US sites.
a pic of one of mine that flowered last year.

I see! So you were very lucky to get that collection!!

Hello boojum. The lady whose collection I bought was getting on in years and had not been able to look after the plants for years so they were in a shocking condition. All she wanted was a good home for them which is why I only had to pay a minimal amount. I ended up originally, with over 600 epis and many, many zygos, selenicereus, aporos and much more. There were 100s of dead plants also. Really sad. I had to sell a few to make room here and spent weeks trimming and repotting.
A labour of love for me though. I had 32 flower last year which was a lovely surprise as I thought they would take a while to recover. Now we have built a large greenhouse for them and with all the new growth you would not know they are the same plants.
Have a happy and safe Easter, Jean.

Jean Beautiful flowers.

I am sure the lady was delighted to find such a good home for her loved plants.
