Spring bouquets 2008

Oakland, CA(Zone 9b)

These are some photos I took of bouquets I made in the past week. For those who are suffering from spring fever, hope you enjoy these beauties. Your turn will be coming soon - I would love to see pix of tulips, which are annuals here. Even with all the wonderful plants we can grow year-round in CA, I still miss seeing tulips in neighborhood gardens at springtime! Except for some of the public gardens and special flower shows, one seldom sees them out here.

This is freesia and Bloomingdale hybrid ranunculus:

I posted this lovely 'Double Delight' bloom in the Rose forum. It has a very short stem, only about 2" long. I had two more "shorties" to add to it after today's work in the garden - a white 'Margaret Merrill' rose, and a stem of alstroemeria that broke off.

My favorite spring combo - an unknown purple bearded iris that reblooms, and white callas. Foliage is variegated aucuba "Gold Dust".

Alstroemeria hybrid, name unknown. Very floriferous, dormant for less than 3 months out of the year.

jkom51...........very nice plant material. Your arrangements are absoutely delightfull. I would any day in the week rather have an arrangement of this type than any flower shops larger creations. You made my day. Our spring bulbs are just emerging in North Central, Pennsylvania.

I agree those are lovely. Such a nice variety you have . I especially adore the callas and clivia. Perhaps you should come over and check out the DG flower arrangement forum?
