nancy, I have a lot of them and love them, but I now know of a less expensive one that is fabulous for only .60 each. The lady lives in Victoria.......Jo's violets..............I can get her email tonight at the meeting. Even if you pay the shipping these are just as good or better to me............

Can you see in this picture that both big holes are already cut on the top for you......and the container is slightly larger but does have a lip on the top so the plant doesn't tip over........

Apart from looking more attractive (which can be a consideration to be sure), I think they're functionally very similar to setting a wicked pot on top of a margarine tub reservoir, with a hole cut for the wick and another hole for refilling the reservoir... So they should work fine.

I really like the size of them for .60 as they are a bit larger than the ones Volkman sells for 2.95 and they are certainly nothing to look at as far as cosmestics go.

Thanks everyone.I am definitely looking for something a little more appealing to the eye for my dining room shelf. Its in a high eye traffic area and I tend to get a little embarrased when company arrives and sees all my mish mash containers..LOL... I think I might just try a few volkmanns : )

Gail,I am definitely interested in some of those you have pictured.they would be perfect for my other shelves. I really like the looks of them and you are right about being less expensive than volkmanns.I will send you a dmail tomorrow to find out more about how to get my hands on some : )

I just talked to the guy at Volkmann's about his soil and I may order some more of his reservoirs. I told him that the only thing I didn't like about them was that they are colored and I can't see when to refill the reservoir. I probably will order some more as they are nicer to look at (LOL)............

Gail I ended up ordering a few from volkmanns to put on my eye candy shelf..(in my dreams)..LOL.... along with some of his special soil for wicking.I am anxious to see how that soil mixture works...

His wicking soil is fantastic.........think I am going to change to his soil. The ladies in our club win state honors and that is all they use. We are currently trying to figure out how to ship in bulk down here.
