We have 4 dogs all spayed and neutered. Payne will be 8 in May..male Rhodesian Ridgeback. Bear and D*O*G both males are 6..Bear yellow lab mix..D*O*G Catahoula/Bulldog mix. Onyx was 1 in December.. female black lab/chow mix.
A neighbor found a VERY skinny female red nose pit bull and brought her home. Everything was fine at first until she started comming over here to run the fence with my crew. Well, late Friday afternoon here comes Dixie again...Bill tells the neighbor, who has had enough, sure we'll take her! GRRRRR I called the moble vet who was having a vaccine clinic yesterday. Got Dixie shots and checked for heartworm...she's right at 1 near as we can figure so I gave her 3/8/07 as her "offical" birthday. Gonna see about getting her spayed this week.
Dixie is a sweetie...BUT...she jumps the fence and seems to feel that as the new kid in town ie:my house, she should be alpha. NOT So far no letting of blood, but I'm a nervous wreck!!! We shall see over the next week or so how things go. Lord only knows how I'm gonna keep her quiet after the spay. If all seems to go OK Dixie has a home, if not we'll find her a good one. In no way will she go to anyone who might teach her to be a fighter nor will she become breeding stock. She IS getting spayed and please God,I prey that whoever had her originally hadn't already started teaching her to be a fighter. Don't get the wrong idea here...if we can't keep Dixie it will have NOTHING to do with the fact that she's a red nose pit,but rather because she came into an established household and they all just couldn't play nice. Wish us LOTS of luck!
