Is This Normal Behavior?

Charleston, SC(Zone 9a)

Sorry, no pic on hand right now.

I have a morning dove living in my front yard. She has been there since last summer. I think she may just be nesting in or under the shrubs around the foundation of the house. The house sort of wraps around (on 3 sides) the flower bed in one area and that's where I see her a lot. Lately, I've seen her in the branch of a small magnolia in the front yard. The branch was only about 6-8ft off the ground. I walked past her, but she didn't try to fly away. For the past few days, I see her sitting on the back of a wrought iron chair in the front yard. I walk around, walk past her, and sometimes toss her a handful of b.o.s.s. Nothing seems to phase her. She never flies away. I figure she is probably just used to seeing me around, but have become a little concerned about whether she might be unable to fly, hurt or something. Does this sound like normal behavior for a dove? Would a dove nest or roost in or under shrubbery along the foundation of the house?

Hi Scutler, They do nest alot in man made structures but rarely on the ground.

One of them always stays with the nest if there are eggs (one incubating).

If she's still eating and otherwise seems fine I would just keep an eye on her,

In the Sticky "Helpful Guides and Tips" theres a site you can go to for locating the closest rehabber and maybe they could give you more information.
