Seeking Shrub ID

Alexandria, LA

What is the shrub photgraphed at the following link:

http://www.dyesscreek.com/hidden_pages/030908.html

It is in Central Louisiana, Zone 9a, is deciduous, reaches a height of about 10 feet or so and was photgraphed in mid-May with bright red blooms. If you know what it is, does it attract hummingbirds?

TIA

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I think it could be a Pomegranate at first thought. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/5568/

Vicksburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Yup, sure looks like pomegranate to me. If it is, the blooms will have a little bulge at the base that will become the fruit.

Northeast, LA(Zone 8a)

Looks Like my pomegranate.
