Happy Birthday, Jnette!
Thank you so much Pirl, you made a long trip over from the Northeast. Glad to see you with that beautiful flower. Jeanette
I thought more people from Strawbale gardening would show up! Maybe they're all busy with setting things up for their veggies.
Jeanette: don't know how to keep up with birthdays!
Happy B-Day from NC.

What a gorgeous photo!
Wow, all the way from New Zealand!! Thank you Kent and Lena. Lena what is that flower? It sure is pretty. Is it out of your yard? LOL, or do you have room for flowers? Actually, that being a tree, there probably is room for it. Gorgeous. Thank you
Jeanette
That is beautiful Kent. It looks like a Dogwood. Is it? We have beautiful wild Dogwoods at the higher elevations in the mountains. Very pretty. Thank you. Love it.
Jeanette
Jeanette: 10-4, it's a Dogwood.

Hi Jeanette,
The flower is a Magnolia x soulangiana, and unfortunately it is not in my garden! A beautiful old tree, it is one of the protected "notable trees" in the Victoria Esplanade arboretum here in Palmerston North. I have a special friendship with this tree, its one of 6 that I had to do a research assignment and health report on for horticulture paper at uni. that was 3 years ago, but I still visit my trees sometimes.
I took these pictures last september (spring!) while it was flowering. It is in full leaf now, while its cousin Magnolia x grandiflora is finally making blooms. Im glad you enjoyed the flowers too :-)
Lena, your pictures are lovely. Thank you for sharing.
Have a nice week.
Jeanette

Jeannette, Sorry Missed your birthday, but hope you had a lovely day. It is trying to rain here today. Planted my soaked sweetpea seeds yesterday.
Donna
Thanks guys, yup, now it's over for another year. lol
Sweet peas!! Wow, I don't know which snow bank I would plant them in. Altho, we did finally get some rain last night instead of that white stuff so spring must be on the way.
