The Victoria Golden Bell croton is very common here in the Philippines. One can see so many varieties all around houses, street corners and plant shops. I call them " old plants " because i saw them from my grandmother's and our garden as i grew up. The Victoria Golden Bell comes in both the "more" red and the "more" green or yellow variety. They can grow as a bush or proud plant over 5 feet. When very old, trunks could be about 3" in diameter. They love the sun and this helps to intensify their colors. I can see about 6 or more varieties around here in home gardens, street corners and in most plant shops.

Hi,

This is still only about 3'tall,, but I still love it. Maybe it will still keep growing.

I bought a croton about 5 years ago in a CVS drugstore and I have been going crazy trying to find out what it's variety is. I think this is it! It's had a rough year or so. Attacked by spider mites several times has resulted in leaf drop and crinkled, shrunken, misshaped leaves. But I have been treating it with horticultural soap and think the mites are taken care of. It bounces back remarkably fast after the mites leave, but due to the leaf drop, its trunks have gotten long & barren. I may have to air layer it soon so I can make it look prettier. I'll try to take a photo to add to this thread because I'm quite sure the variety I have is the same as shown in these photos.

Good Luck, mochi. It's quite a plant and mine is still growing strong.
