Chick with extra toes-??

Moberly, MO

I wish I could enclose a picture for you, this seems very unusual.

I recently bought some standard sized chickens and one lone bantam from my local farm supply. A few days later at home, I was picking each chick up to check for crust butts (nasty job,but somebody's gotta do it).

That's when I noticed! Each standard sized chicken has one toe in the back, facing backwards, and three facing at 10:00, 12:00, and 2:00; respectively. My bannie has a toe growing out from the side of another toe on each foot- the toe nearest the outside. Yes, I wish I had a picture, I could explain it better.

Anyway, has anyone ever seen this? Is this normal for bannies? Is my baby going to be ostracized for the rest of his feather-footed life? lol. just need some input.

Maybe it's a silkie. Mine have 5 toes. If it is you will love it. They are the sweetest chickens out there.
