Playing a cd of speech on pc

I have some books on cd and several cd's of speeches/presentations. When I play them on my pc the tracts of 1 thru ???/ show up and it plays like a song; that is after 2 1/2 min, or so it clicks over to the next tract or song. But there is no song!! Any suggestions?
