What ever happened to Piedmont Plant Farm?

Anna, IL

I used to buy the best onion slips from Piedmont but have heard they went out of business. I plant Candy onions and have been buying plants from other nurserys the last 3 years and none have come close to vigor or size of Piedmonts. Anyone know if someone else bought them out or where to buy good onion plants?

Sorry you have not received any nibbles on your request. I grow a multiplier and save bulbs for starts. Also grow a walking onion and garlic. I suspect different onions are like the garlics. Their success varies from colder to warmer climates. Good luck in your search. pod

Thanks for the reply. Yes there are short day, intermediate day and long day onions. But I am having trouble with the same variety. I think there is a great deal of difference in the quality of the plants.
