Makshi,That is so neat!! I never knew they would bloom in the house! I have a few in the basement that are just now putting out new growth.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

This is the first one that I have had to bloom in the house.

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

I think I am going to try that with one next fall when I bring them back in the house. How neat that must be to able to enjoy a bloom like that this time of year in our zone!

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Makshi, that is spectacular!!!
I am SO hoping that my datura will put buds on but I'm thinking they may be too small right now.
GREAT GROWING!!

You must be SO PROUD!!!

How did I miss this thread?
I just started my first Brugs late late year. You've got me excited now makshi!
Of course right now I'm just happy to have them alive?...

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

Diane,
Congratulations! I had one bud in the greenhouse and knocked it off when I was out watering :-(

(Zone 1)

Makshi! Congratulations ... that is sooo pretty! I have one Brug left in the ground in the yard that is still barely alive. I lost two that got too dry last summer! Does that one have any fragrance? I am a newbie to Brugs and I've heard they are fragrant but the one I have still living bloomed a few years ago and I detected absolutely no fragrance whatsoever! I just love the soft color on that flower of yours!

Keep us updated on how it does!

Beautiful, makshi! I bet it smells heavenly, too. :o) I am hoping my brugs didn't freeze outside. I've heard that they might survive in my zone if the winter isn't too harsh, and as cold as it's been, really it hasn't been that bad of a winter. Maybe they'll come back in the spring. If they do, I'm going to try to get one to bloom in the house like you have.

Susan, is that a Plumeria? It's beautiful, too! I've never had one but would like to get one this year. They're so pretty. :o)

(Zone 1)

Gorgeous Plumie Susan! Wow! You Grow Girl!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

Way to grow Susan! Mine usually go dormant in winter. And they don't bloom every year for me either.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

I had nothing to do with this blooming...LOL She did it all on her own.... Is the the right color because she was in basement but I brought her up and watered her... I have several that are getting inflows on them...

That is really a beautiful Plumie Susan! Mine are just dead looking sticks right now.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Susan very nice and so beautiful. I have one plumie in my kitchen. It hasn't bloomed yet. It has on about 5 leaves.

I don't know if the brug. has a fragrance or not. I can't smell very well with the oxygen and allergies.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Beautiful brug makshi.I love those plants.

Susan,Thats a pretty plant too.Are they hard to grow?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

nice brugs and plumerias!!!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

The first year I had plumerias which was in the summer of 06 I killed more then I rooted... I have gotten better at it... I have lost a few this winter but that was due to the fact that they did not have a good root system on them and I put them up with the others instead of on heat mats and lights... So are they hard to grow yes and no.. .If you are a person like I use to be who thinks everything needs water all the time you will kill them... Now I only water when needed... These have not been watered since November ...
I hope I have some luck growing the brugs. I hear they are hard to grow? I will find out.....
Hugs to all,
Susan

Mine isn't flowering here in Maine but I'm VERY proud that it has kept it's leaves even during a Maine winter. I have lovingly named her "stubby" *lol*

Stubby is really a cute little brug. I haven't had much trouble keeping the brugs alive because unlike plumies they need a lot of water.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Stubby is actually a plumeria *lol*

(Zone 1)

Nice Plumie Kim ... is that baby plumie's sprouting up in the bottom? Are the baby ones from cuttings?

My Plumies are dead looking sticks right now. In the next couple of weeks I'm going to plant a couple in the ground and see how they do!

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Dumb me. Sorry

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Actually Lin,

The babies that are sharing the pot with Stubby are Datura seedlings that I started in October *lol* I had TOO many seedlings on the stand and needed to find other places for them *lol* So far they are settling in quite well. They went into a kind of shock at first but I think they are coming out of it now :) I NEVER should have started the Datura that early but I got an itch to start seeds one day and never thought about what would happen if they actually sprouted *lol* I actually have some Impatiens all budded up on the light stand right now along with some snapdragons and borage *lol* Too funny. Still learning *lol*

I almost cried today as I worked on the front porch and really whacked back the brugs.........and i didn't root the tops. I don't have any more room for brugs..........but I do love them....................

Makshi, this picture was taken in December as I was out on the porch one night and almost flipped when I saw the brug blooming....so I know how excited you are!

The picture was taken Dec 10th.......of course our cold weather had not set in at all.
