hello: we have had a lot of good information on potting soils for houseplants. Now can you recommend specific brands which produce good results for this purpose.

If you really want the best results, you'll have to make your own potting mix. Tapla had some great advice in this thread http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/796311/ But if you're lazy like me and want to just buy a bag of stuff, I really don't think there's a huge difference between most of the major brands. I wouldn't use some off-brand thing from the dollar store but any of the major brands of soilless potting mixes will probably give you similar results.
thanks - tapla did have the word on this - lazy too so I'll give Home Depot and Agway a shot/
I have many, many plants and I use Miracle Gro Potting Soil, but I mix in a LOT of orchid bark in with the soil for good drainage. I use this mix for almost all of my plants.
