I need your clever ideas

Berkeley, CA(Zone 9a)

Kind of a vegetable garden question. After 6 years of use, one of my curly type of hoses sprung a leak. Being a re-cycler, there must be uses for all or parts of it.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Use pieces of it to tie up big plants like shrubs. Let something climb on it. Refit the ends and make a shorter hose. A repair kit might be available, but if you have too many leaks it would make better sense to replace it. Or use it like a soaker hose, punch more holes in it and run the water at low volume.

If there's only one leak, fix it with a plastic patch (like waterbed repair kit) and reinforce with a metal hose clamp (one of those metal bands about 1/2-inch that tightens using a screwdriver).

Fern Park, FL(Zone 9b)

Make a trellis with it :)

Gainesville, FL(Zone 9a)

I would cut it at the leak and make two smaller hoses.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I like the idea of using it for a climber! I had one spring a leak last summer, never got around to throwing it away... and because of its size (skinny) the standard repair kits etc. just don't work well.

Thanks!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Take the hose to a welding supply store they have brass hose barb fittings and squeeze on clamps. Prolly have a size close enough for you.

Jill I got my TTY seed send me your addy if you still want to try it
