I have had my plumes in the shed all winter. What should I do when I take them out? Water? Fert? etc?
Winter is over?
Swampguy, as soon as your last frost date has passed, you can put them outside for the spring and summer. You may want to acclimate them slowly to avoid sunburn. I have taken mine out of the greenhouse already, and I am seeing some sunburn on some of mine.
I water when the soil look dry, whether the tree has leaves or not. Most of mine do not have leaves this year after a particularly cold winter, but I am seeing a lot of shiny tips, which means that leaves are coming, and hopefully, inflo's are coming too. I would not fertilize until you have a full set of leaves on your trees.
