I just bought 100 anacharis oxygenators for my pond - I do not want to plant these. In the past I have used fishing line to wind around them and a fishing weight on the end. Are there any other ideas out there for doing this - it can be so tedious.
Thanks, DC
Weighting down ANACHARIS?
You can buy lead plant weights on line. You just put a bunch togather and wrap it like a twist tie.

Glad I could help.
D C you are talking about what I call parrots feather. 20 years ago my neighbor and I split an order of it for our ponds. It was $7.00 a small bunch then. I have had it in my ponds ever since and just throw it in. The koi eat all of my neighbors so when mine gets too thick I just pull it out of the pond and take it over in 5 gal buckets full and feed her fish. I just have gold fish now. I have been thinking on trading some this summer if anyone would be wanting some. I have a 7x7 ft 18incch deep and a smaller one. In July that stuff just goes crazy. It is winter hardy too. I have planted it and tyed it and it will just grow all over anyway. If you get too much just try to trade it or sell it or thow it on your garden. When I clean my ponds I put the muck on my garden for good fertilizer. Hope this helps. BEV
Hi Bev
Your pond is beautiful. Parrots feather is diffrent than anacharis. Parrots feather is much fluffer. Anacharis grows just as fast as the parrots feather but parrots feather can be grown in the ground as a bog plant too. Anacharis has to be in the water.
