Where can I get Achimenes corms? I found a couple of places that have them, but by the time you pay postage, it doesn't make sense! Thanks, Kay
Need Achimenes corms
Can anyone help me with this?
I wish I could help Kay but I don't know anyone who grows them. Beautiful plants though. I looked in Plant Files and I'm not so sure about ordering from two of the companies listed who have the bulbs. Two of the companies have the same exact address in California and have had some negative ratings.

Good luck in finding your bulbs and let us know how they do for you if you do find some!
I have grown them before, and they do wonderfully for me. The ones I had got frozen on my sun porch, while I was out of town, for Thanksgiving. The unexpected freeze claimed several of my tropicals!
I know I've seen people offering Achimenes on here before. Might have been cuttings, but they would develop corms from those, I do believe. Maybe closer to spring someone will realize they have extras. The name sounds familiar to me, as if maybe I've grown them...wonder if I have some hiding on a shelf somewhere that I've forgotten about... LOL If I find them, I'll let ya know! ;o)
I have found these bulbs in three places. Firstm they are often offered on E-bay or you can check out these two websites.

Were you looking to buy or trade? I might be interested in trading if you would like. I will not need all of my bulbs.
Lorine, that is sweet of you, but I just was given a pot of the purple ones today. If they don't sprout, I will dmail you and send the sase. THANK YOU for your kindness!
Oops! Is your name Lorine or Rene - I appologize for calling your name incorrectly.
Oh, boy - I'm glad to hear that! LOL As you can see, my 'cyber' name is Kayjones and my real name is Jo.
