I've decided to plant my passiflora in a large pot next to my fence in an attempt to keep it reigned in. How large should the pot be? I've never potten a soon-to-be large vine before.
Thanks.

another ? re passiflora
My passifloras are in the ground so I don't really know the answer to your question, but I have raised ornamental gourds in pots, about 24" diameter. Good luck! As big a pot as you can put there should be fine. Don't forget it will need more watering than if it's in the ground.
Jo, I had my Passie in a pot last year and it never really leafed out well, plus it was hard to keep it watered. I also didn't have very many GFs visit it, so this year I planted it in the ground and am hoping it doesn't come up everywhere.
I would recommend a ceramic pot or maybe put those polymers in it to keep it moist, you can always put it in the ground if it doesn't thrive.
I found a good potting mix called Moisture Control by MiracleGro. Love this stuff! It's saved more plants in pots these days in my yard from drying out, wilting, and dying. I'm not sure what's in it, but it sure is a great change from the usual potting mixes.
