Hi there mrsbonnie,

That was me that sent you the plant and pot. I made it out of a yugurt cup and a applesauce cup. They fit together just right and I just burned a hole for the wick.Do you need more of them? I eat alot of yugurt and applesauce.LOL. The little plant really has grow!

Oh wow, you are so handy. I really love this container. I would love to have more & would be more than glad to pay you for them.I don't eat yugert, so i guess i would'ent even know how to make them.I am so glad you replied, i just could not remember where i got it from.i think it's adorable & yes the plant has really grown nicely. so let me know, as i said i would be more than glad to pay for them, i like them that much.

Very creative!

What kind of paint/primer did you use? It looks like it's holding up well... and getting paint to "grab" onto plastic can be tricky!

Sending you d-mail bonnie.

Hi critter,I used Apple Barrel primer and acrylic paint from Walmart craft section. Also sanded it alittle.

Thanks, Jan! You've got Dmail...

I would love to make some of these. What brand of yogurt and applesauce do you use ?

Thanks, Lou

Lou, play with what's in your recycling bin! That's what I'm going to do... :-)

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Hi Lou,

I've used many brands of yugurt, 6 and 8 oz.Mostly just the store brands.Small 8 oz. sour cream cups work good too.And the applesause is Motts brand that fits the best.

Thank you for this neat craft idea! I've been running out of pots so being able to make my own is just great!

Do they fit right into each other? I am a bit confused. Thanks

Super cute, great idea to put them together, the applesauce inside with a lid?

Hi, Hears a picture of the 2 pieces.

heres how they fit together. you just need to put a hole in the applesauce cup for a wick. Works great for small plants.

I see, I thought you had a lid on the small container, you have the water below it with a hole in it, right?

How clever Jannich!! When I saw the 1st pic at the top of the thread I just asumed it was storebought!!You really did a great job making that. Those are so cool.I am going to try my hand at making one.

That is so cool. I love using household things for things other than they were intended.

I bottom heat my plants with a strand of Christmas lights inside of a rubbermaid container. I then place an aluminum baking pan on top of the container not covering the entire top opening of the container. Then I put my seeds/plants on top. Voila! Free heating mat!

Great "bump" Tish! I sometimes use the applesauce(and other containers) inside pots as shelf--so to speak--to make the plant the right height for an outer pot, but would like to hear more details on how this works. Still making them Jan?

Here is another example of Sister Jan's talent.I love it!!

Lynn..you should also post this on the self watering pot thread I started today. It is a great picture of the insert, how the little cup is perferated and how to decorate the yoguart cup!

Ok Tish,I will.
