Newbie here. I have a mini yellow hibiscus (pavonia praemorsa). About a month ago I took one of its seed pods and planted two of its seeds in a pot I have (with a stuggeling basil plant) and then promptly forgot about it. Figuring it wouldn't grow. Well I was wrong! I looked tonight and saw a little seedling growing next to the basil! I'm so excited! Now I get to find out if it bred true and see if it actually survives!
My first hibiscus seedling!
Ur . . this forum focuses on Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Exotic Hibiscus. I'm not sure any of us speak Pavonia . .
sorry,

We do talk hardy hibiscus too (although the tropicals seem to dominate!) but it is still typically things in the Hibiscus genus, so I don't know if anyone here knows much about Pavonias. I hope you have good luck with your seedling though!
night skies, hope it turns out a pure seedling, I had these once and loved the little flowers in summer.Good job!.. Poor basil though...LOL
