I hope this doesn't annoy anybody, or that I'm violating forum rules, but I thought you guys might like this picture.
My kitties are indoor only, and here's a really cute picture of them watching birdies in SouthEast Texas.
My little birdwatchers
That is cute. My nieghbor's cats do the same but her feeder is right against the window and the cats do not scare the birds or the squirrels. BEV
We've had several robins and cardinals around this week, which is kind of unusual for our area...they're used to the crows and blue jays, and we also have finches, ducks & mocking birds (that quack like ducks).
Cute picture.
Looks like they think the grass is greener on the other side of that window.
Especially little Miss Nutmeg in the center. She's my dasher...she's always foolishly lured back quickly by cat treats however, so she's never done any damage to local wildlife. Mischievious, but not bright.
They know (secretly) they are safer in the house. It may look exciting outside, but they will live longer on this side of that window.
That's exactly the reason why I keep them inside! I've even converted a friend whose cat "disappeared". They got a new cat this year and he's indoor only.
concretebrunett, I hope you don't mind me asking...do you live in a motor home? Those windows look familiar! My parents sold their house and are full-timers. BTW my two indoor kitties love to watch the birds.
Yes, I live in an RV...thank you, Hurricane Rita! It's not so bad, though, and if I hate the neighborhood, I just move my house! lol.
Cute pic concrete! Looks familiar to me having 3 cats of my own. :-)
That's cool. I don't go "home" to visit my parents anymore, they bring their home to me.
As long as they don't dump their black-water tank down the storm drain, like in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!
I love your picture! How cute!
Too funny! My cat and my dog do exactly the same thing. Occasionally one of them will forget about the window and leap straight into it, when a bird is very close. DUH! Opal (my kitty) is a rescue cat. When we got her, we were required to sign a "contract" stating that we would NOT let her outside (which we haven't), both for her safety and bird safety.
MANY shelters are doing that now, and I applaud it. Especially those of us that live more rurally, cats & small dogs make GREAT snacks for coyotes and bobcats.
Ah, I know...the chattering is the funniest thing.
My aunt & uncle actually had a "pet" mountain lion when I was a little kid and he chattered, too!
