I have an area in the northern corner of my back yard. The area is slightly lower than the rest of the yard and my neighbors' yards. During a rain (or snow) storm, the area fills with about three inches of water that takes a few days to drain. Several large aborvitaes and about 5 newly planted arborviteas died. After reading this article doccat5 posted: [http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/634/?utm_source=nl_2008-02-04&utm_medium=email], it seems that a rain garden may be the solution to my boggy northern corner. I'm planning to build the rain garden this spring and thought this forum might be a good place to get advise and some design ideas.
