Will someone inform me about the size and width of a pot I should be using to grow any type of Orchid Cactus? Does the pot need to be tight or bigger for the 'Epi' to grow bigger?

Hello Barryswall, I too am a novice at epis but have been growing things since I could walk. I use pots about 4'' across for cuttings and when they look full, or roots are coming out the bottom,I repot into bigger ones . For the larger epis that I bought, I used either hanging baskets about 9'' diameter or pots around 7" - 8'' diameter . I have found that epis like to be a bit potbound and also dryer than other plants. This morning I found some old pieces pf epi prunings that I had thrown down the back ,just laying on the ground and sending up new growth. They will grow anywhere and in anything by the look of it. I spray mine with the Recipe from Brugmansia forum and water once a fortnight. On hot days I spray with water. I have mine all in a mix of potting mix, river sand, vermiculite, old compost with a bit of sheep manure. As long as it is well drained , they love it.
