Thistles?

Rockaway, NJ(Zone 6a)

Hi.

While putting hay into pots (yeah, container hay gardening, it's weird, but it's something nifty), I found that my haybales had thistles in them.

Not only do I not have a name for these thistles, all I have are full-blown flower and seed heads. They have hay in with them, though not much. Mostly, they're just exploded puffballs of white seedfluff, with a few still-purple heads in there.

I've heard they can be invasive, so unless you know you want them, it's probably not a good idea, but if anyone wants them, you can have them.

Postage or SASBE?

Yep, basically. Although the plants looked more like "field thistle" than "Milk thistle" in Plantfiles.

May Princess Tammy never find thistles the hard way! :D

I'll help you out and take some.......I'll put them in a planter and see how it goes. I'll send a bubble envy this weekend. and if you are quick, you can get a point from me above by not calling you Rachael! :o)

I would love some for postage. How much do you want me to send to you? What is hay gardening?

*chuckle* I don't do the whole points thing. But yeah, I'll send you some, no problem. Got a whole baggiefull of the things. Cute little fluffy fellas, not like the plants they grew out of!

I found them the hard way.
