I just heard from another gardener that she overwinters her brugs outside. She was in zone 7b. I'm in zone 8. Anyone have any experience in growing them this way? It sounds a lot easier than trying to haul them inside every winter.

They would have to be grown in the ground to overwinter outside. Be sure to mulch heavily. I would take cuttings in the fall in case they don't come back. Some Brugs are more sensitive than others. I don't know whether the more sensitive ones would make it through the winter. Use the PlantFiles as a guide to decide which might or may not make it through your winters.
