Here is the KBS cutting that had buds early. It's in the back and Mountain Magic is in front.
Look at these buds.
It is not big enough for buds....the little thing will fall over...LOL
Is that normal?
wow how wonderful!!!
Oh how funny.. I looked and looked.. LOL The buds were so big I didn't see them! Congrats on early buds Ken, that's great..
zz I have an Australian mate over in the Oz forum who is looking into those ... I Googled and found out that they are "mini Angels" could you please give us some info on those ...never heard of them until my friend mentioned them ...for example do they have the same requirements as the "big Angels" and do they have a perfume? (I have always got to know that:) ).Which one do you love the best in the mini Angels (colour) she lives in a cooler area than I do and are the lochromas a little more tolerant of cooler temps.
Finally do you or anyone else have a pic of these ones.
Thanks and happy gardening everyone
chrissy
Ken,
Congratulations. They look so healthy. The blooms are going to be bigger than the plant.
I can see I need to be more diligent in using the recipe.
Marie
Hi Ken your babies sure look healthy, just great. I bought some Brug cuttings and thought when I get them I would put them in rookwool to start them??? What do you think?? ladybug
Ladybug I bumped a thread about rooting in water. There is all the information there you will need to get you started. Good luck.
Incredible! The buds are as large as the leaves. What are you feeding these puppies? Lol
Tussee
That would be the recipe.
kenboy;
That is the oddest thing that I've ever seen in brugmansia. Making buds so early. Your recipe rocks!!!
That is amazing Ken. I thought,I don't see any buds,I thought where is it to have such an impact on everyone here,so I looked again,WOW, I thought the bud was the biggest leaf☺☺☺Way to go!!! Mine are not doing too good right now, dropping leaves and kinda stalled in the growing. I turned a halogen light on them for a while yesterday, but I am worried the 8 I have left won't make it...sigh......so close and yet so far...........
Lu, looks like you and I need to go back and adopt the "recipe". Mine although, doing ok, but not like Ken's Wowzie!!!
Kim
I have been putting the recipe on them, but the leaves got some curling and browning, not exactly browning, just little odd-looking soft spots that kinda looked gooky,I don't think it's the recipe, I think it is some kind of brug bug. Today I am going to put on my magnifying glasses and see just what might be on those leaves☻I am not at all happy about this because mine were doing so well till yesterday☻
It could be this zone5b too. This time of year,my inside started plants usually take a nose dive if they are too far along. It could be a zillion things Kim, donthca know...sigh....darn....nothing worthwhile comes easy does it?
Girlfriend, sounds like you need to take some pics. and put on a new threads, see if we all can bump heads and figure out what exactly the problem. Ken, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Just stopping by to admire your buds on brugs. :-)
Kim
I will take a pic or two today if I can't see any bugs, thanks for caring Kim☺
Thank you, Ken. I've been gone for a spell so I've missed the recipe.
I'll do some scrolling back as I Need that concoction. :)
Tussee
Lol. The recipe is two threads below. Man, I need new glasses.
Tussee
This is not my thread, it is our thread, go for it.
KEN! That's absolutely unfreaking believable! WOWWWW!
ZZ how did you get your Iochs to root?? I tried last year and was totally successful, but after the summer, I had no luck at all!
Posyblossom, I hope you find out the source of your problem with the leaves and I will be watching for a follow-up from you. I have my gardening friend Steve searching out the ingredients for the recipe, as well as coming up with bulk cornmeal for the roses, and he is a bit unhappy with me. Until he sees results, he will probably continue to give me grief...he calls these things witches' brews. Lol.
Tussee
They look like very young cuttings. Are threy getting enough light?
Those are truly currious looking babiez! I've a KBS cutting which main cutting shrivelled up, but has put out a healthy sidegrowth from the base. I'm delighted that it did. Speaking of bud, I've C.G. that's about to unfurl. Wooohoooo!
Lu, hang in there. It maybe slow to take off, give them bright light and foliage feed them maybe? Most of my small cuttings last Fall they didn't grow very fast either, except some vigorous varieties, such as those of Milk & Honey, Dr. D. ect.
Kim
Posy, are they wet? Are they cold? Are they getting enough light? A LOT of light.. and they look underfed to me.. LOL (I always say that.. brugs are such pigs) not enough light will produce the "starving" look..
I agree.. Foliar Feed... daily if not more.. you can't get enough fertilizer to them via watering at this time of year..
Ken.. I'm dying to see more basket brugs! Amazing!
All of the above I betcha☺ I am on my way down to the basement to beef up the lighting and I just mixed up a new batch of "The Recipe". Thank you all. I think I have a tendency to blame everything on the poor bugs☻Foliar Feeding it will be☺
Love pics of all your Blooms,it makes me hopeful again☺
OMG, Ken! That is soooo cool! Kind of bizzarre lookin' - but I like it!!!
PS - I saw that prescription bottle in your photo - what are you REALLY giving them? LOL!
What a wonderful thread on this icey cold snowy day!
Ken, That is so amazing, I had to bring the thread up at work to show my coworkers.
I had a pink last year that didn't get much above the pot before blooming. I thought it rather strange, but beautiful.
