Big storms last evening till midnight. Gloomy day yesterday.
A few of an almost adult Redwing male, and a few Jays.
1. Juvenal Redwing.
This morning's take.
LOL! Love that last one!
Great series trois. I really like that last one of the Jay. His expression!
Beautiful, It's been quite a while, since I've seen the Redwings, Nice of you to post them here. Enjoyed the Blue Jay's expression.
Thanks, nanny_56 and beclu727. I saved the best till last. LOL
burn_2007, we have had hundreds of female Red Wings this winter, but the males are just showing up.
Jays are very expressive birds.
1. Juvenal Redwing
First-winter immature. Juvenile plumage is lost in the first moult in late summer in the year of birth. Juvenal was a Roman poet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juvenal
Resin
He still seems to have some juvie feathers. He might have been a very late hatch.
Very nice pics trois!
Thanks, pelle!
Great pics again Trois! I love those BlueJay pics...they are characters!! I haven't seen any male RWBB here, just a few females when the weather was icy!
Thanks, dellrose. My feeder is full of female RWBB and has one Male. Also a couple of grackles.
