is dog poop good fertilizer?

(Annie ) in Austin, TX(Zone 8a)

This sounds like a silly question, but I have a Great Dane who is insistent on hovering over my plants when he makes his daily deposit. I go out and find different plants the lucky recipient of dog fertilizer. I know dog urine is bad for the plants, but how about the poop? Leave it or move it? Thanks,

I'd move it. Just as we don't use meat scraps or dairy stuff in compost, poop from carnivores is very risky.

I've always understood that "well-aged" dog poop would be fine, but I don't care to have a compost of poop. :( I don't care to have a year old mountain of dog poop!

What is it about carnivore poop that is risky? Besides stepping in it......

Dog poop doesn't belong in my flowerbeds or veggie gardens!!!
