A girl after my own heart! I love wasp violets too! Which one is that Sally?

Blue Tail Fly I believe. They are cuties. I have Nymph too.

Nice! I really like the bustled leaves on the wasp violets.

I am a lover of wasps, too!

I'm a total noob when it comes to AVs. How large are wasps and are they the same basic plant as the regular sized plants? (That is, do they need the same basic care?)
Right now, the only AVs I have are two un-named pinks and a "Rob's Galatic Storm". And he's putting up some buds right now! YAY!)

Wasps are not large but their bustles are to die for. Let me find you a good picture of one. I have a Merlot Wasp by Senk. Here is her picture from the AVSA site.

Ok..........AVSA did not like that. I will go to First Class and borrow theirs. sorry........find a pic later

Yet another noob question- what's a bustle on an AV?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I will show you a baby wasp growing and notice how each leaf gets a double leaf (almost) behind it causing the plant to look like each leaf has a little bustle under it.

Perhaps you can look at the stickys at the top of the African violet forum and study some of those links..........much to be learned from the stickys..............

Oh! 'Merlot' is another one I lost and need to replace... those leaves are so lovely, with their deep red backs. It's really a striking plant, in bloom or not. Bonnie, I think I need to start a "wish list" with you and see what I can come up with as a trade... I know you don't want/need more AVs, but maybe you could use some oriental lilies, or some other item. We'll talk! :-)

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

sounds like a plan.lol
