Good luck. I tried for the man's version and I'm still crying that I didn't get it. The guys was so sweet.
Here you go ladies
I was a little hesitant to check the link..lol
I thought the picture looked awful (who wants a pepto-bismol bathroom?)...but, I guess they don't come paint your bathroom pink....and I want that BOSE sound deck.....bad.
So, thanks for the link Core
That is so funny--LOVE the view out the window....
I'd never leave.
lol...I had to go back and look, for some reason I was expecting a muscular blonde or something
I'd be all over the TV/towel rack, wow
Gott im Himmel!!! How do you take a simple wizz in that thing??? I'll pass on their "creativity"...
That is one rockin' bathroom!! I entered!! lol
Yote - the view isn't a view at all; it's a digital "window".
Ewwwww .. When I was looking for a house to buy, one of the houses actually had a room painted the color of pepto bismol .. you almost couldnt' walk into it .. it was like some kind of unseen force was trying to push you out of the room. I got the same reaction looking at the picture in the link! I didn't bother to look at details. Lol.
X
Oh, I couldn't deal with that pink, either, but I want everything else in there! hehehehe
Deep sigh, I already have that bathroom. Our house is a "vintage" 1970s ranch. We're slowly redoing it. We have not touched the bathrooms yet. I have pink tile floors, walls (floor to ceiling all 4 walls), pink tub, pink toilet and pink sink. It's a sight to behold. No window to break up all the pink. People are often heard to exclaim when they first walk in, "OH MY GOD!"
I'm washing dogs in it today, so it's wrecked, I'll go take a pic later when I clean it up to prove it. It's a horror.
When we moved in we still had harvest gold appliances in the kitchen and hi-lo shag carpeting in burgundy, pink and royal blue throughout the house. And linoleum. And remember that paneling that everyone had in the den in the 70s? It was in every room in the house.
Jenny
The carpet sounds awesome, actually!
we have some of that cool paneling in the basement and the living room, our place was built in '79....but at least these older houses are so much more sound structurally than what is built today.
and I 've heard re-glazing tile is not that hard :)
If you go that route, you can re-glaze tiles and the tub. The wood paneling doesn't look bad painted in a light color. Flooring??? No that has to go. Appliances, water heater etc have to go. If nothing else you'll probably get a lot of the cost back on your electric bill. Might want to check your insulation too. A few extra rolls in the attic, low in cost but big on effect.
I helped a friend down in Orlando figure out what to do with a 50's fixer upper. first problem was a $700 electric bill for a 1800 sgft house. Yikes. A/C was from 71 and the water heater was vintage 68. I'm a amazed they still ran. This stuff is still fresh in my mind. The house actually didn't have grounded outlets. Well at least not how they're grounded now. LOL.
LOL Jenny, you might want to keep that pepto pink just for the OMG factor. It sounds like it would be pretty funny to see the looks on the faces of your guests.
What I really need to know is who among us would brew lattes in the bathroom for cryin' out loud???? Come on, you can 'fess up...I won't tell;->
I would. Newspaper, CNN, latte, not a bad start to the day. Warm towels, nice. The whole question would be how comfortable is the seat?
I tried for the guys version and didn't get it but I'm sure even with pink tile my friends would love to give it a try. LOL.
DW is signed up.
I'd have some fun with that room if it was mine, and make it totally 70's outrageous! Mirrors, bright lights, vivid colors - maybe some lime green & purple accents. Maybe even put some disco music in to play when people walk in there! hehehehe
Lava lamp. Pink furry rug in front of tiolet.
There ya go!! You could even put some Saturday Night Fever posters in - you'd have the coolest bathroom on the block!! ;)
I forgot. The hanging beads on the shower curtain rod.
lololol
yours still looks better than the one on the giveaway---I love those tubs like you have. does your shag carpet look good with the bathroom color?
a little Barry White....let's not forget the all-important latte brewer
Ewwww! Back to the latte in the john again!!! Good gravy, Trop, lol!
Jenny, that bathroom made my eyes water...Trying to keep the coffee off the keyboard (and outta the 'reading room'!).
But don't feel bad. I have a friend who moved into a house with one pink powder room, and one mint green powder room. Talk about nowhere to hide:-))
Bev
I think I could handle the pink better than the green...lol
seriously though Bev, I couldn't stomach the thought of getting water for the carafe from the bathroom sink
Thought I knew you better than that, LOL! You saw that core 'fessed up to being able to stomach that, didn't you????
Yeah, if the pink would be pepto colored, what in heaven's name would the green be?!
Hey, don't blame me Core...you said it!!!! And may I say again....ewwwww!!!
the bathroom has never been a place I wanna quench my thirst..must less start my day...but I'd sure put the BOSE sound deck in the office...move it to the GH when I'm out there..awww yeah
remember "You can't do that on Television?"...the green slime..was it that color?
Yes, and I want the iTouch, too! Saw one of those bad boys at the Apple store. You know me...see it, want it.
Slime, yech!
I'm still wondering What the **** they were thinking in the 70's? I like girl's in bell bottoms but other than that, really you folks older than me thought this was all a good idea? I remember my mother raking the shag carpet at one point with a leaf rake. LOL> The movies from then were horrible or at least the ones I've seen. Smokey and the bandit was good. Can someone tell me why there was a show about an old man driving around in a RV with a young guy who liked to dress up in tights?? I still can't figure out what was going on there. Greatest American Hero or something like that.
If I could travel back in time my one statement repeated over and over would be, "Are you serious? You think this is a good idea."
hey...I can't say this new trend towards men wearing tight pants (especially around the ankles...ugh) again is any good either
but there were great films..all the Petey Wheatstraw stuff...PInk Flamingoes
Men wearing tight pants (especially around the ankles...ugh)
Count me out. Some of this disco stuff was funny, I did wear a suit exactly like the ones in dumb and dumber to a Christmas party. LOL. Think those came from the disco age. It went over so well a few other guys bought the same suits but the wildest colors they could find and we went out partying in them a few times in Savannah. Surprisingly we looked so stupid women seem compelled to speak to us. We were probably safe from muggers too. Lots of comments from the streets. LOL. Not one of them bad.
Hey diehard I have a few suggestions for your evening wear. Tattoos and nose rings? Passe, everyone is doing it. Skin tight orange ruffled leisure suit? You will stand out in a crowd. You need a tan to pull off the orange. Hat is optional.
as long as men are focusing on what's REALLY important (what they look like)....I can't ask for much more than pants that aren't tight around the ankles
HEY! As a former disco queen, I have to tell you, Core, that you all really missed it when it came to the dancing!! hehehehe I've danced thru many decades now, and I still think the 70's was the best and most fun one.
Actually, most of those "psychedelic" colors came from the 60's, not the 70's.
As to coffee in the bathroom, I do it in hotel rooms all the time - don't you? If I had a small 'fridge in my bath for my 1/2 & 1/2, I'd do it here, 'cus my office is in my bedroom so the coffee would be just a few steps away.
