a few new babies.

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

I am excited about my few new babies. The starts are from some of my plants. I potted them in milk jugs which are sitting crosswise in a 2nd milk jug so the potted one has at least a 1/2" drip pan. I thought it was a good idea, we will see.
The new ones coming up are mostly from wonderful DG brug inablers. Thanks.

The first bloom opened on my Flowering Maple. Last winter I almost killed it from neglect.
I am excited it looks so good.

Having a box cutter with a sharp blade will help when you are ready to remove the rootballs from the jugs.

I already have one handy. I figured I would cut the jugs off, disturb the roots as little as possible.
My CG that has 2 blooms:

Wow looking at exotic Angels and Chinese Lanterns and snow all at the same time simply blows my mind! ...I think you gardeners are all amazing ...I can only begin to imagine the wonderful day when you start to take the overwintering plants back out into the sunshine ...I hope it is not too far away and I am looking forward to watching the great show that is to come :)

LOL @ Chrissy.. I didn't even see the snow.. I was wondering if that was Abutilion or Confederate roses... and thinking.. that's gonna be hard to get them out.. but the ease of carrying them in the meantime might be a fair trade! LOL

Great pics Marie.. Love to see brug pics with Snow!

It is an abutilion. It is from seed I planted 2 years ago. I have 2 plants.
My daughter helped me carry the large pots in last year, I hope I can get the 3 largest out the door. LOL. They are really starting to grow.

What a joy to see you plant flower from the very seed that you sowed! Congrats Marie.

These are from seeds gathered from my Red Hardy Hibiscus Last fall. I haven't gatered any before last fall. I will certainly continue to gather and share the wealth this fall. I am excited to see what they will be, I had pink, white and deep rose Hardy Hibiscus so I don't know what the other parent is.

These are Pink Moonvine. I was amazed at how fast they sprouted.

MyRee,
It looks like you have some pretty tall brugs in your first photo. It looks like you sure have the green thumb!

I have been using the 'Recipe' on them, when I soaked, planted and when I water. 2 tbs in 1 gallon distilled water. (I have a water distiller). We will see how they turn out.
I even have a couple of canna's coming from seed. I haven't tried them before.
