Wheat bars recipe

Years ago ( I do mean many years) when I was in school, one of my favorite desserts were these wheat bars with a thin chocolate frosting on the top. I have looked high and low for a recipe. They were like a brownie, but were made from wheat, you could tell they were made of a whole grain. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have a recipe for something like them? I'm hankering to make some... :) Thanks, Kathy
