brick fountain ideas?

Danville, IN

Does anyone have a photo of a fountain made out of brick but also as part of a brick wall? I would like to create one on a brick wall in my new sunroom, but don't want to hang one that I could buy. I would rather have it built as part of the wall, if that's a clear explanation. I know I would have to have a collection basin on the bottom, but would love ideas as to how it can look with water either flowing in a sheet or better yet, more slowly down the wall, possibly hitting bricks that would stick out a little. The fountain/waterfall would be part of a brick divider half-wall that also is going to incorporate planting boxes. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi,
I'm doing exactly what you're talking about but though the little pond holds water, the walls are leaking somewhere and have not been able to figure it out. Since I found your question on an old post, I was wondering if you found any answers or built one. If you have any ideas or experience, please let me know. Thanks

Your wall / fountain is just beautiful! If you have a leak somewhere in the walls, you might want to try using a great product that I used called Pond Shield. It's a non-toxic epoxy sealer. (Check it out at www.pondarmor.com) It comes in clear and some colors. I ended up making a waterfall in my sunroom, in one of the brick walls. I'll post photos when I get it completely finished, hopefully in another week or so. Good luck with yours.

Thank you Hoosier for your kind words. I would love to see your pictures when your waterfall is finished or even before - how did you research it and did you have a professional install it? I wasn't able to link to your site to check out that brand of sealer but will try to Google it later.

I have a guy who's really good at literally everything and I know he sealed it and also worked on it several times trying to find the leak ...but it's still leaking badly somewhere. The water almost empties after an hour or two. I told him I was so tired of "messing" with it that I would just fill the little pond and put what's left of my plants in it (with some mosquito dunks) and we'll try again in the spring. In the meantime, I have lots of tropical plants and orchids and I need to concentrate on protecting them before we start getting cold here. I don't want to get caught with suddenly having to cover or bring plants in at the last minute - (done that before).

Thanks again, I look forward to your thoughts and pictures. Here's what's left of my plants plus a plastic water lily I found at Lowe's (hoping to entice a frog or two) LOL
