Rhipsalis (Rhipsalis teres f. prismatica)

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

i'm wondering if there may be some Crassula muscosa mixed in with this plant. i see two different leaf types present.

ps. i found this picture because i am trying to id a Rhipsalis i recently purchased....no luck as of yet. thanks!

In Plantladylin's picture, I believe what you're seeing is the difference between mature stems and immature stems. Many Rhipsalis have stems that differ -- often with hair-like spines on angled stems for young growth, but smooth terete stems as the plant matures.

Some Rhipsalis are distinctive, but others can be tough to ID, so I know how you feel, Trackinsand! I've got F. Süpplie's book, I've poured over Rhipsalis-dot-com, and even with flowers and fruit I've got one I can't pin down.

Good deal! It always feels rewarding to get the right name dug up! Pilocarpa is, IMO, one of the all-around prettiest Rhips. Enjoy!
