I'm setting up a new water feature on my lanai and am trying to figure out if I should go with a dwarf water lily or dwarf lotus. It will be in front of a spiiting concrete gargoyle laying on his back on a pedistal. I know how the waterlily will look, but have no clue about the lotus. If it's leaves and flowers are out of the water, it may be nice as a forefront. But never had a lotus. I am thinking that it as deep as the w.l. pot. There will be a purple Japanese Iris on either side of the gargoyle. Thanks in advance for your help.
Dwarf Water lily vs Dwarf Lotus?
If it's a slight spitter, either will do fine...but neither can take MUCH water movement or splashing. Check with different types of lilies, some bloom higher on stalks out of the water, instead of at the water level with the leaves, which makes them very pretty. Lotus are a little picky and harder to deal with (Although beutiful if you can get them going)
