germination russian sage i gave away was false

Toledo, IA(Zone 4a)

sorry again--i read germination of russian olive was very sporatic from up to thirty days to a hundred days---booboo---i planted them all thick--like ten seeds per cup--about five days ago---i have one cup showing seven seedlings some others showing several seedlings-and others showing one or two----so i would put off planting them a while---presumably they will sprout quickly ---now im gonna have some leggy russian olive plants from planting them too early but at least i know they will sprout---come to think of it i have a halide area light i can rig up to save the day-then plant the rest of my seeds under flourescent lights later--sorry for the false information i passed on--thought i had better clear it up--stevo

So the seeds we got from you were Russian Olive, and not Russian sage?

HI--sorry the seeds i gave away were russian sage not olive i booboed when i dmailed

Toledo, IA(Zone 4a)

revamped info---so far 162 seedlings out of 250 seeds have popped up so all the seeds i gave away should get better than half germination which would be forty or more seedlings---i am relieved as some were harvested between thanksgiving and christmas and i wasnt sure what was going to happen-----i harvested about fifty seeds last week from the very last of the dried up flower cups and the chaff was gloriously fragrant even after all the rain and snow and cold---i guess thats what the word fragrant was created about---stevo

I can't wait to see the Russian sage bloom. I don't know how many came up, more than I wanted to count, tho. : )

I wasn't planning on planting mine until spring anyway so I'm good but thanks stevo!

Plant a lot of them Lucy you are going to love them!

Oh, another question...will russian sage reseed itself, if I let it?
