Needed

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I need some plants for my wee lil 5 gallon hex and don't really wanna spend $7.00-$10.00 a pop for the ratty more than half dead plants at the LFS.
(imagining a nice heavenly lush dutch type aquascape, lol)

I don't need anything fancy but would like to try something with broadish leaves and some sort of carpety type plant.
I have a 15 watt light (would upgrade that for a pretty plant if they make one for my tank), don't know what to really ask for, lol. I always just yanked some plants out of my ponds before. Something a lil different would be nice.
We should be going to town this weeked and I wanna pick up some tubing and a valve to make a co2 injector. Always wanted to try that.

So maybe some,

Java moss
Lace java fern

El Nino Fern

Ashy pipewort
Eriocaulon cinereum

Corkscrew Val

Cryptocoryne walkeri

Carolina fanwort (and that one that looks like this but it's reddish?)

Limnophila aquatica

Ludwigia ovalis

Pogostemon stellatus

I'm not asking for all these plants, just posting the kinds I thought were really nice looking.
Was hoping someone may have excess plants they didn't wanna toss in the trash that I could have for postage.
I've got an idea but I have to wait to post about it, it will be a while in the making but I think it's a neat one!

omg java fern ohhh I cant get hubby to drive to cookville. :-( I don't have a license LOL. Ohhh lemme think, K I will see if my son (stepson) can drive me up in the van tomorrow? If not I'll send you some money for shipping. Wow, I've always wanted Javas hehe.
This is so cool to have DGers so close lol. Gotta g et a license. :O Thank you Judy!!!

Moretz, if I can get some going and you remind me later I'll mail some out to ya.

Maybe with a C02 injector I can get them to grow faster LOL.

Ya'll ever seen Takashi Amanos tanks? *drool*

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

BTW moretz, when spring comes I'll have some water plants, nothing fancy but would be a start. Mine have died back for the winter.
I'll need to get an I.D on them. Just don't kill me if you get snails, LOL!

I need to take stock of what I have so I can offer some up.

crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

"Crimson" where in crossville are you exactly? can't much closer than I am!LOL

Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

No need for CO2 with these. They grow so fast sometimes I have to throw them away. Just gave my son a huge chunk of the moss and it is doing great in his tank too. I have them in all of my tanks ((2) 1 gal, 5 gal, 10 gal and 30 gal).

hehe, okay just re read your post and is jealous of your larger tanks, LOL. Makes mine look like a super nano tank hehe.
When we build a new kitchen/diningroom on were gonna get a big tank, whenever hillis decides to build that is LOL. I'm about to highjack my stepsons 20 gallon for that blasted eel I bought on impulse. Should have known better than to trust the walmart fish department, or at least waited til we got our computer LOL.
He's a neat one, a spiny eel (peacock). Gonna get a couple more when we find a larger tank. Man, this stuff is so much fun, I really missed aquascaping and fish keeping.

Jocie I love the tanks. That is my dream too but the plants and CO2 equiptment are so expensive. Check out www.localsalesnetwork.com they have some pretty good prices on tanks sometimes.

Liquid Carbon dioxide is about $0.50 lb.
Check my numbers this is from a bad memory. 1Liter = 4 gm.
I think there are 545 gm per pound.
A ten pound tank would hold about 1362 liters (metric quarts)

Looks and UUallace, squints, decides she can't read swahili. :-O LOL
I was just gonna add some water and yeast and hope it didn't explode, LOL!!

See ya Friday!

Dry CO2 is the same price, usually 10 libra minimum. (don't touch it! It sublimes @ -109 degrees. Without high pressure equipment it is gone in a week.

still blinking here, hehe.
My yeast Co2 should work right? LOL it's so simple.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

K, i set the co2 up right after i got the plants from TK, man, it's working great. I do have to recharge it once a week like you said though. Not much of a hassle, it just smells like a brewery, lol.
